Hello and welcome to a Year of Visual Novels! This is an ongoing project where each month I'll play a visual novel, and then the following month, talk about it here. I want to get a healthy balance of new, old, obscure, established, long, and short VNs, ranging from the chastest of hybrid romance titles to the horniest of kinetic eroge. For longer VNs with multiple endings/routes, I will get all of them if that is reasonable. If not, I will get close to or at least half of them. Please understand that I am limited by the fact that I don't speak Japanese, and I am not very technologically literate, meaning getting PC-98 and other old games to work will be a challenge. This will impact what VNs I decide to play. These will not be reviews, because I'm not interested in the objectivity reviews demand. Instead, these blog posts will be a journal of sorts to collect my thoughts on these games; what I liked, what I didn't, what spoke to me, what I thought could be improved, whatever I think is worth noting.
Down below you can find links to the pages that contain each Year of Visual Novels, which currently is only 2022. From there, there will be individual pages for each VN. On the top of those pages will be relevant content warnings and links to where you can buy the game, support the devs, and/or download any relevant patches or unofficial translations. Also, please assume every page has MAJOR spoilers for the topic Visual Novel.
